My Business Policies


Thank you for choosing me to be your celebrant – I can’t wait to start planning your dream ceremony with you! Before we get to the fun part, here are a few terms and conditions to ensure both you and I get the most out of working together.

  • My ceremony fee includes:

·         Obligation-free meeting to discuss your ceremony and fill out the legal paperwork. I want to know all about you, most of all how you fell in love…

·         Preparation of a ceremony that is all about you and your loved ones (please see individual packages under ‘services’ for extent of script inclusions).

·         The use of my professional PA system so all of your guests can hear your ceremony (*only available for ‘the full package’)

·         All standard official paperwork

·         Officiating your wedding ceremony – the fun part!

·         Travel within Brisbane and surrounds

Optional Extras:       

·         Travel beyond Brisbane is $2 per km outside of Brisbane CBD*

 

Note: Your paperwork will be lodged with BDM directly after your wedding and your marriage will be registered. QLD BDM has an application fee of $54.40 for an official copy of your marriage certificate. This certificate is your official proof of marriage and can be used to change your name.   You will be able to apply for this approximately 5 days after your ceremony.

  • A non-refundable booking fee of $200.00 is due after the first appointment if you decide to hire me as your celebrant. This booking fee guarantees that your chosen ceremony date and time is confirmed in my diary. It also covers the cost of completing the official paperwork. 

  • The remaining balance must be paid 1 week prior to the ceremony. This balance (excluding the booking fee) may be refunded if the ceremony is postponed or cancelled up to 90 days prior to the agreed date, depending on individual circumstances. Fees can be paid in cash, or by direct deposit. Bank account details are found on your invoice. Please use your surname as reference.

  • The ceremony format and wording must be finalized no less than 1 week prior to the wedding date. Not good for my stress levels (or yours) to be writing the ceremony the night before the wedding!

  • In the rare event of unforeseen circumstances that prevent me from carrying out the ceremony as planned, a suitable authorized celebrant will be contacted. In this instance, we will discuss such options with as much notice as possible. I will be there unless something catastrophic happens!

  • Any change in venue or time must be discussed prior to the ceremony, as I may have existing commitments that may not be able to be changed.

Privacy and Confidentiality

As your Celebrant, I will be handling important legal documents relating to your Wedding and I will require access to some private and sensitive information.

I will:

  • Always respect your privacy and manage sensitive documents with the utmost care.

  • Not share any of your private information with third parties (other than Birth’s Deaths and Marriages or the Attorney General’s Office as required by law).

  • Nominate a meeting place in which to discuss your Wedding needs, considering the need for quiet and privacy. Alternatively, I can offer video conferencing for our initial meeting.

  • Handle all documentation with the utmost privacy. All documents (electronic & physical) will be stored securely and will be destroyed 6yrs after your Marriage is officially validated.

 

Document Recording and Storage

Your privacy and confidence are my highest priority. When selecting me as your Celebrant, please rest assured that I will:

  • Always respect and manage sensitive documents with the utmost care.     

  • Not keep any unnecessary copies of you documentation or Wedding forms.

  • I will responsibly shred any documents deemed private and unnecessary to conducting my business.

  • Handle all documentation with the utmost privacy. All documents (electronic & physical) will be stored securely and will be destroyed 6yrs after your Marriage is officiated (legal requirement).

Equipment Maintenance and Servicing

I am committed to delivering a professional service using quality equipment. To ensure that your service is conducted with complete clarity and at a comfortable volume, I will:

  • Use a professional P.A

  • Regularly inspect the P.A and its components to ensure they are functioning correctly.

  • Store my equipment in a secure, dry place.

  • Ensure that I have another P.A available through an associate, or via your Wedding venue, in the event my system fails.

 

Stationery

To provide you with items that are of a professional and tasteful standard, I will:

  • Use a professional design and print company to supply you with:

    • vow & certificate signing books (to use on your Wedding day)

    • commemorative certificate for you to keep.

  •  Ensure synchronicity amongst my suite of products.
